Michael Bloomberg, former mayor and major philanthropist (he has given away over five billion dollars!) was honored at the Ronald McDonald House's 25th annual gala - I ran into him before the event in the VIP room (cause where else would you find a Fame Digger?!) Michael was his usual friendly self, chatting with guests, eating away at the hors d'oeuvres and of course taking a pic with moi!
I've actually met Mr. Bloomberg before at previous events, and have always been a big fan of his show jumping daughter, Georgina - I used to watch her compete at the Wellington Equestrian Festival and met her at a preview of last year's Central Park Horse Show (her son was super cute riding around the ring in a mini car!)
Jason Rabin, President of the Global Brands Group, was also honored at the event which raised millions of dollars for the many important programs at the Ronald McDonald House.
I also got to say hello to Terry Lundgren, former CEO of Macy's Inc. who I met a few months ago at the FIT gala - his wife Tina is the Chairman of the Ronald McDonald House. Before introducing Mr. Bloomberg, Terry told everyone how all the former mayor really wants is to learn how to be a better golfer - as he said, money can't buy everything! But at least it can help the families who receive special care at the Ronald McDonald house.
